July 2021 – Present

Senior Front-End Developer for Welsh Government, developing front end to access a Dynamics CRM on premise. Implemented using NextJs for server-side rendering including Redux. Next Js implemented with multilingual functionality to allow Welsh Language translated version within the same code base.

Communication of data is achieved from the front the backend via the method of REST APIs and associated endpoint queries. Architecture for the application is Azure Devops and included relevant deployment pipelines. Makes use of Government Design System and govuk-frontend packages to ensure consistent accessible UI with Welsh Government tweaks and adherence to WG Design Standards.

Senior Frontend Developer

MOD/DE&S

Feb 2021 – May 20201

Senior Front-End Developer for MOD/DE&S via Civica working on an Airworthiness application for the maintenance and tracking of the military aviation fleet.

Implemented using React and Redux as a single page application and SharePoint backend. Mentor to junior developers with little to no front end development experience. Involved in the bid preparation for the subsequent phases of the project.

Rapid development of informational web app for the Scottish Governments COVID-19 vaccination program as partnered with IFPMA. Short timescale required rapid build using NextJS and React to publish a static site generated web app.

Senior Frontend Developer

Sept 2020 – Dec 2020

Create application on anti-terrorism and radicalisation to be hosted on Gov.uk estate. The solution was based around Drupal 9 headless CMS exposing REST API endpoints for consumption by a NextJS framework. This javascript framework uses server side rendering and the Gov.uk frontend library and GDS to provide a modern, accessible digital Government Service.

Senior UX Developer

Provided front end development and UX skills for a green field project for LV= to update their digital portfolio and improve their self-service capabilities.

Project allowed customers to upload claims evidence for multiple insurance products via their mobile devices.

Proved to improve customer satisfaction and allowed claim turnaround times to be reduced from an average of 48 hours from initial contact to pay out to less than three hours.
